The Corkscrew Willow Tree (Salix matsudana 'tortuosa') is an extremely fast growing tree that is a wonder to all those who gaze upon it. With its forking branches close to the trunk it takes on somewhat of a shrub like appearance at early stages of development. It has a twisted and curled branch structure and beautiful golden bark, making it just as interesting in the Winter as it is in the Spring. This tree makes an excellent choice for "living walls", privacy fencing, or simply as a unique ornamental plant to give your landscape a touch of personality. It can be pruned heavily each year to promote vigorous production of young stems, which will give it more and more unique and busy appearance over the years. Grows at a remarkably fast rate of about 2-3 feet per year.
